Curried Channa

Ingredients

1 can chick peas (19 oz.)
1 chopped onion
1 tbsp cooking oil
2 tbsp curry powder
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp ketchup
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp hot pepper sauce

Preparation

  • 1. Drain chick peas, retaining half cup of liquid.
  • 2. sauté onion and garlic in oil.
  • 3. Add curry powder, cook gently for one minute.
  • 4. Add chick peas to onion mixture, fry for about 5 minutes.
  • 5. Add remaining ingredients and reserved liquid.
  • 6. Simmer gently for about 15 minutes.
  • 7. Serve hot.
